- The first point I notice when contrasting the two demons is that that of 'Sinister' (known as 'Bughuul' or 'Mr. Boogie') (first and third images) is a visually live character who takes basic form of a human whereas the demon from 'The Conjuring' (known as 'Annabelle') is a visually non-living being as it takes the form of an inanimate children's doll (second image).
- Both the demons from 'Sinister' and 'The Conjuring' are supernaturally possessed in some way and can cause negative things to happen though they are not physically there themselves.
- In 'Sinister', the demon is linked to religion. Baghuul is revealed to be a pagan Babylonian deity.
- Baghuul from 'Sinister' can physically move whereas Annabell from 'The Conjuring' cannot. This ties into a previous point of how Annabelle is a doll and therefore inanimate whereas Baghuul takes basic form of a human.
- Baghuul's main victims are children. Although he kills entire families, he does so to take one of the children into his realm to consume their soul.
- Baghuul is associated with a symbol (below) which are linked to his pagan Babylonian background. These symbols are found as part of Baghuul's kills and are used to find out who or what he is.
